About us
Our history ensures that you’re making a safe bet when choosing one of our restaurants for a scrumptious meal. Marguerite's was established in 1970 by Margaret and Richard Condon, parents of the present owners. By the time the bakery opened, it was already steeped in generations of baking tradition. Margaret's father Michael “Ganzy” Murphy was one of the old traditional bread bakers, trading from the early 1900's in Maiden Street, Newcastle West.
The business closed in the 1960's but the tradition was rekindled in 1970 when Margaret, his daughter, along with her husband Richard started the present business "Marguerites".
Baking and food fare has been a passion in our family for close to 115 years, and it shows in our delicious baked goods and delectable meals. Be sure to pop by one of restaurants for some unforgettable tasty delights!

Marguerite’s Bakery and Restaurant, The Square, Newcastle West, Co. Limerick
Located in the centre of the historical market town of Newcastle West, this restaurant seats 80 people. Our professional and friendly staff look forward to taking care of you when you visit Marguerites, our family run bakery and restaurant.
We provide a delicious, extensive menu to our valued customers, including baps, paninis, toasted sandwiches, clubs, omelettes, steaks, seafood and much more. We’ve something to suit all tastes! For those looking for a treat, our bakery supplies our restaurant with a fresh supply of breads, scones, confectionery and gateaux daily.
No. 8, The Square, Newcastle West, Co. Limerick
No. 8 is conveniently located above Marguerite’s Bakery and Restaurant. The restaurant offers a truly amazing setting, due to its original high Georgian moulded ceilings.
Enjoy some of our contemporary dishes while enjoying the view of the town square and Desmond Castle. Examples of the exquisite delights on offer at No.8 include chunky seafood chowder, warm marinated Thai chicken salad and warm goat’s cheese brochette.

Marguerite's is our sister Bakery & Restaurant and is situated in the bustling heart of Killarney town, in the beautiful county of Kerry. Our Kerry location is composed of a restaurant, and a coffee shop/restaurant, with catering for 50 people combined.
Our restaurant opens for dinner and offers an Early Bird Menu, Daily Specials, an A La Carte Menu and a Table d'hôte Menu.
Our coffee shop/restaurant menu offers great variety and value, from club sandwiches, oriental chicken stir-fry, fish dishes to our house speciality steaks.
Take Out Service: Any item on our Snack Menu is available for take-out including sandwich rolls, quiche, salads etc.
Cake Counter: We have a variety of home-made breads, scones, fresh cream cakes, Swiss rolls, gateaux and much, much more to choose from.

This outlet is situated on the Main Street of Abbeyfeale.
Our own delivery van arrives every morning with freshly baked breads, confectionery etc. from our own bakery. Orders may also be placed here for any special occasion cakes e.g. birthdays, weddings etc.
